The Progress of Redemption

Humanity is known for struggling with God. We were created by Him and for Him (Col 1:17), but we cannot fully understand Him. Our generation has a glimpse at who God is and what exactly He is doing through the Bible. The next few pages retell small portions of the Bible through the eyes of children. Some names had to be added as the characters are not all recorded, though most of them are. I am not claiming that these are accurate portrayals of each characters emotions, but only what I imagine they might have been thinking or feeling considering the events they witnessed. My hope is that this shares a glimpse of the ongoing progress of redemption that God is working out for His glory.

In your care, John

Dear God,

You said I would be great in the sight of the Lord (Luke 1:15). I know You are with me, because I have always relied on You. Mom and Dad taught me lots about You while they were still alive. They told me I was special, not just because I'm their only child, but because I am filled with Your spirit. That is why I can't cut my hair or drink any wine. I just wish I could have had more time with them. Aunty Mary said I could go and live with them when Mom and Dad died, but I didn't feel like that was what you wanted me to do. So I will follow You. Lead me and protect me. I will keep studying Your word and sharing it with the people around me. Help me know what to say to bring these people back to You. No wonder the Romans are ruling over us...they have again turned their hearts away from You. Just like Dad told me about when Moses was in charge and with all the judges and kings. Bring us back to Yourself God.

In your care, John
