The Progress of Redemption

Humanity is known for struggling with God. We were created by Him and for Him (Col 1:17), but we cannot fully understand Him. Our generation has a glimpse at who God is and what exactly He is doing through the Bible. The next few pages retell small portions of the Bible through the eyes of children. Some names had to be added as the characters are not all recorded, though most of them are. I am not claiming that these are accurate portrayals of each characters emotions, but only what I imagine they might have been thinking or feeling considering the events they witnessed. My hope is that this shares a glimpse of the ongoing progress of redemption that God is working out for His glory.

Your child, Joash

Dear God,

Thanks for taking care of me. And thanks for providing Pastor Jehoiada to take me under his wing and raise me as his own son. Cause my dad died when I was a baby. They tell me it was a good thing, because he was wicked, but sometimes I just wish I could've known him. The rest of my family was murdered and you'll never guess who by! My grandma (2 Kings 11:1). She tried to kill all of us, but Aunt Jehosheba hid me and my nurse in a bedroom (2 Kings 11:2). Then I moved to the temple and lived there for 6 years in hiding and that's when Pastor Jehoiada started taking care of me and teaching me about You. I'm 7 now and officially the King of Judah. I don't feel sad about my grandma dying, because I didn't know her at all and I know that she was a horrible person. She killed all of my family and I think it is right that she die too. Pastor Jehoiada still helps me make decisions, and I'm very thankful because I want to do right in Your eyes, God (2 Kings 12:2).

Your child, Joash
