The Progress of Redemption

Humanity is known for struggling with God. We were created by Him and for Him (Col 1:17), but we cannot fully understand Him. Our generation has a glimpse at who God is and what exactly He is doing through the Bible. The next few pages retell small portions of the Bible through the eyes of children. Some names had to be added as the characters are not all recorded, though most of them are. I am not claiming that these are accurate portrayals of each characters emotions, but only what I imagine they might have been thinking or feeling considering the events they witnessed. My hope is that this shares a glimpse of the ongoing progress of redemption that God is working out for His glory.

Rescued, Zipporah

Dear God,

I know that You are merciful and kind. Truly a God of love and grace. It was so horrible before. I had an evil spirit in my and it practically controlled me. It was horrible suffering. Mom had heard about this Jesus guy. Even though he is a Jew and we don't really talk to Jews and they don't talk to us she knew he was my only hope. So she went in search of him and when she found him she cried out to him, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me!" and then she told him how I was suffering from demon-possession (Matt 15:22). This is where our different nationalities came into the picture and he didn't listen to her. The guys with him told him to send Mom away, but instead she knelt at his feet and begged him to help. He compared us to dogs and said he was there for the Jews and not for us, because we are not the chosen people, but my Mom was brave and she reminded him that even the dogs get the crumbs that fall from the children (Mark 7:28). Jesus was surprised by her faith in him, and he granted her request. By the time she got home I was already healed.

I think some of the guys that Jesus normally talks to want him to do things for them, but they aren't willing to admit that they cannot do it without him. Mom was quick to agree that we are just like dogs, but begged for mercy in spite of that. And Jesus responded to her faith with grace. What a guy!
